End of the Year
It’s the end of the year and everyone seems to be doing a wrap up post, so I’ll take a swing at it, too.
First, let me say “thank you,” to my readers, both of my stories and books, and this enewsletter. It means more than I can say to have you in my corner.
In 2025, I attended ConConction, the Big Ohio Book Con, Balticon, DragonCon, and Steel City Con. I will most likely be doing more cons in 2026. I am already scheduled for Coastal Magic Con in February, and have been invited back to both the Big Ohio Book Con and DragonCon, so that’s a good start. I hope to see many of you at these events.

I had one published story in 2026 in a charity anthology called Queer Power: Escaping the Fright. It was a fun story entitled The Case of the Haunted Tiara and the anthology supports the Trevor Project.
Audiobooks

The big news was the release in June of the Wrinkle & Crime audiobooks from Soundbooth Theatre. I can’t say enough about these. Yes, it is my book and perhaps I sound like I’m patting myself on the back too hard but the folks at SBT did such an amazing job with the audio. I hope everyone listens to them. Check them out. The first novella (Pluck & Cover) is free.
The Summoner’s Mark
Bell Bridge Books, which published my Summoner’s Mark Series, is closing. Not because of anything bad. The publisher, the lovely Debra Dixon, decided to retire. I know! How dare she?! Instead of selling the press, she chose to give the authors their rights back. I also purchased the original artwork so that I have it and can keep my covers, which I love. So now the books are all up on Amazon but Bell Bridge has to take their versions down and then Amazon can move my reviews over to the new, self-published versions. Nothing about the books have changed. It is all back room stuff. But it will allow me to package the books in a box set, something I’m hoping to do in the new year. They will be available on other platforms as well. I just haven’t loaded them up yet.
The last book in that series, Angel Flash, is at the proofreaders, so it will be out soon.
Teaching
I have a horror novella with my editor at Falstaff Dread, so that is in the works. And I had one other super great thing happen, which was that I presented a one-hour presentation at the Cleveland Rocks Writer’s Conference sponsored by the Great Lakes Fiction Writers. My topic was Creating a Writing Habit (Especially if you are Over Age 40). It was well-liked and the director of the writer’s center at the Euclid-Lyndhurst Library asked me to come back and do a two-hour workshop. If you are in NE Ohio on January 10 at 2-4pm, please come by. It is free. You just need to register.
I’m looking forward to a productive 2026. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year’s and wish you the best for a happy and healthy year to come.
