I Was Nominated for an Award
I was nominated for an award. Can you believe it? There I am, minding my own business, when an Imaginarium email pops up. Imaginarium is a fantasy convention held in Louisville, KY every summer. I attended once but haven’t had the opportunity to return.
What Did the Email Say?
The email announced the finalists for the Imadjinn (pronounced Imagine) awards. I thought, “Cool. I’ll scroll through. I wonder if I know anyone nominated?” I saw lots of people I know! L. Marie Wood for Best Poetry Collection. Barbara Evers for a short story. I recognized a lot of names.

Eventually, I got to Best Urban Fantasy and my jaw hit the floor. I was nominated for Pinky Promise, the most recently published book in my Bell Bridge Books urban fantasy series. I literally stared at it for a full minute, then blinked, rubbed my eyes, and stared again. I had no idea this was coming and if I hadn’t opened the email to casually peruse it for friends’ names, I would know I was nominated until my publisher emailed me later.
What Happens Next?
First off, I’d like to thank anyone who voted for me to be a Finalist. I appreciate you! I’m over the moon about it. And if you are attending Imaginarium and have the opportunity to vote, please consider Pinky Promise for Best Urban Fantasy. Qualified voters can receive a free e-copy of the book to review ahead of time. Just send me an email at He***@sl***********.com.
Meanwhile, if you are interested in what this series is all about, please click here for more information, and visit Goodreads. Also, if you want the audiobook, Demon Kissed and Fae Crossed are now available on Everand and Audible and the all the regular places. The rest of the series will be converted into audiobooks as well.
Thank you!
