The Case of the Haunted Tiara
The Case of the Haunted Tiara is the title of a short story I’ve written featuring my zombie cosmetologist character, Waylon Jenkins. It will appear in an anthology Queer Power: Escaping the Fright. If all goes well and folks buy it, the proceeds will benefit The Trevor Project.
What’s a Haunted Tiara?
The story takes place all in one day. Waylon is working makeup on a play called The Case of the Haunted Tiara and discovers very quickly that the lead male actor has been (DAH-dah!) MURDERED and the tiara used in the play was STOLEN! (read that appropriate special effects music)
We meet a wacky bunch of characters including Detective Newland, who must interview each member of the cast and crew to discover who murdered Donald and why. Was it accidental? Premeditated? Did it have to do with stealing the diamond tiara? Are there ghosts and rats in the theater?
Hercule Poirot Has Nothing on Waylon
It’s a closed box mystery a la Agatha Christie, and although the anthology is focused on horror, my story is much more Scooby Doo than anything else. It should be fun and I’ll let you know when it is up for sale.
In the meantime, if you would like to read a FREE short story about Waylon, click here and use the password Hugo. This story tells you how Waylon and a then Officer Perkins first met.
Oooo! Excited to read this new story!
