Flameout is the third in this series and I’m glad I waited until the third one came out to get involved. I read one, two and three in a row, carrying my KindleWhite everywhere I went so I could slip in a few minutes of reading no matter where I was.
If you have read the Riley Jensen series than you have a feel for what this new main character is like. Emberly, who is aptly named since she is a Phoenix, gets involved in a complex plot that keeps you guessing until the end. It is hard to know who is a good guy and who isn’t with all of the twists and turns.
My only complaint about the book is that there a lot of characters and I kept getting my bad guy groups mixed up. It was too many names for me. My brain couldn’t keep track. I settled on following our three main characters since they were the ones I was invested in, and didn’t completely worry about all the fighting clans. I would like to learn more about the werewolves though…(Hint, Hint…Keri.)
